The total number of persons who had used the Internet in the week preceding the 2001 Census was 3083. There were 307 people (3.5%) who had used the Internet at work only, 1882 people (21.3%) who had used the internet at home only and 319 people (3.6%) who had used the internet elsewhere only.

There were 575 people (6.5%) who provided a multiple response to the question of Internet use. There were 383 people (4.3%) who had used the Internet at home and at work, 138 people (1.6%) who had used the Internet at home and elsewhere, 17 people (0.2%) who had used the Internet at work and elsewhere, and 37 people (0.4%) who had used the Internet at home, work and elsewhere.

 
Registered Marital Status

In the 2001 Census, there were 3255 married people (50.3%) (1606 males and 1649 females), 368 separated people (5.7%) (167 males and 201 females), 649 divorced people (10.0%) (283 males and 366 females), 218 widowed people (3.4%) (56 males and 162 females) and 1986 people who had never been married (30.7%) (1015 males and 971 females).

In the 1996 Census, there were 2673 married people (54.8%) (1328 males and 1345 females), 235 separated people (4.8%) (102 males and 133 females), 394 divorced people (8.1%) (178 males and 216 females), 169 widowed people (3.5%) (39 males and 130 females) and 1405 people who had never been married (28.8%) (738 males and 667 females).

In the 1991 Census, there were 1268 married people (61.5%) (629 males and 639 females), 73 separated people (3.5%) (33 males and 40 females), 121 divorced people (5.9%) (57 males and 64 females), 72 widowed people (3.5%) (16 males and 56 females) and 529 people who had never been married (25.6%) (293 males and 236 females).

In the 2001 Census, 81 (1.2%) people (35 males and 46 females) held a postgraduate degree, graduate diploma or graduate certificate. This compares with 37 (0.8%) people (21 males and 16 females) in the 1996 Census and 9 (0.4%) people (3 males and 6 females) in the 1991 Census.

In the 2001 Census, 319 (4.9%) people (135 males and 184 females) held a bachelor degree, compared with 177 (3.6%) people (85 males and 92 females) in the 1996 Census and 63 (3.0%) people (35 males and 28 females) in the 1991 Census.

During the week prior to Census Night 2001, 3728 people in Oxenford (2024 males and 1704 females) were employed, representing 89.0% of the labour force. Of these, 2343 (62.8%) people (1535 males and 808 females) were working full-time and 1257 (33.7%) people (423 males and 834 females) were working part-time. This compares with 2902 (87.7%) people (1625 males and 1277 females) who were employed in the 1996 Census and 1153 (85.3%) people (662 males and 491 females) who were employed in the 1991 Census.

There were 428 (11.5%) people (176 males and 252 females) employed as Professionals in the 2001 Census, which compares with 286 (9.9%) people (133 males and 153 females) in the 1996 Census and 97 (8.4%) people (52 males and 45 females) in the 1991 Census.

On Census day, 7 August 2001, 20 (0.5%) people travelled to work by train only, 24 (0.6%) people took the bus only and 3 (0.1%) people took both the train and bus. There were 2795 (74.9%) people who travelled to work by car, either as the driver or as a passenger and 63 (1.7%) people either rode a bike or walked to work.
